Place of Research

I'm starting a blog to compile influences, ideas, artists, activists, empowered people, projects, and work that inspires me.

Here's a list of possible posts that I'd like to research already:

Miranda July

Duane Michals

Somatic poetics

Feminism blogs

The Youth Initiative Program

Comic artists

Waldorf Philosophy
-Free Columbia
-Eurythmy

Education

Rural villages and Alaska

This is to keep my art-making in the direction that I'd like to go: healing, play, expansion, and releasing fears. I'd like to meet people, I'd like to come out of my shell. I'd like to heal depression and anxiety, I'd like to solve poor body-image. I'd like to re-invent magic in everything, I'd like to go into writing and drawing and anything as a way of finding the place in yourself. That place. You know what it is. This is a photo of me when I'm about 8 years old.

This little girl was excited about the world. She was such a ham. She had a video camera, and she loved making movies and watching people. She loved writing and creating stories. She loved Christmas, she loved making gifts and little crafts. She loved being outside, and berry-picking, and she loved eating. She loved dressing up and singing and dancing to music.

Where did that little girl go? In a search for what it is I'm here for, I've gotten lost in throes of depression, bad body image, social awkwardness, helplessness, fear, overwhelm. Comparing this little girl to everyone else who has ever existed, or done anything similar.

This is my search to find where this little girl belongs, and what she wants to work towards in her life.
